Will the markets open tomorrow?
I do not understand the Wall Street stuff. At all.

What does all of this means in terms of real life?

1. No matter the story or "scare of the month"
It all means the poor and the middle class get fucked and the rich and the politicians get richer. I've heard that even though the politicians squander our Social Security and Medicare away, their portfolios seem to do quite well despite current market conditions and they don't have to worry about health care either.

Politicians do well in the Stock Market

By Ronald Horvath | May 24, 2011

You have to pay to read the entire article but I have read others that confirm the politicians cash out sooner than the CEOs themselves do.

30. Congress can legally engage in insider trading..
whereas you and I cannot.

They have a significant advantage.

12. I've decided in the US anymore it doesn't matter what you do, if you're
poor or middle class you're going to get screwed. The wealth gap is soooo severe. It's about worthless in the US to bother with much at all. And the majority of the youngsters are going to live screwed up lives.

I never ever thought I would be saying this about the US, but times have drastically changed. And many are F'ed over and they still don't get it the propaganda and BS run soooo deep.

14. i am sure it has nothing to do with the fact they know people and have inside knowledge
to get in or out beforehand. i believe that is called insider trading.

27. there is a law against insider trading in general which i believe should apply to members of congres
but i understand that they are above the law and live in their own little world where no laws touch them. i mean didn't they bounce a bunch of checks awhile back or something. they do all kinds of things and don't get in trouble for it. so i see how they seem to have a separate rule of law for themselves.

more than 752 points the Tea Party will be a worse enemy to the US than Al Qaeda?

4. Yes they will open
and if they drop like ricks trading breaks will come into place. Essentially they ARE breaks... if there is no drop, or a small drop... they will have a "normal" bidness day.

8. Markets will open; could be a delayed opening,
if too much volatility expected. Israel did this today.

In real life? For me, at least, it may mean value of investments to pay for daughter's up-coming wedding could be significantly diminished.

Real life, yes.
