Family questions officers' actions; memorial erected near shooting scene
The family and close friends of a man shot and killed Thursday after allegedly firing on Redding police were grappling Friday with Kenneth Ray Wilson's death and questioning the actions of the officers involved.

"We don't think this was justice," said Sonny Wilson, 25, of Redding, the son of Kenneth Ray Wilson, 41, who was fatally shot by officers during the confrontation on South Market Street.

Sonny Wilson was deep in thought Friday at a makeshift candle and flower memorial erected near the shooting scene, tears welling in his eyes.

Although police have described his father as a violent criminal, Wilson said that was not the man he knew and loved. He acknowledged his father had a number of past run-ins with the law.

1. If he really did have a gun and used it
then it would appear to be a justified shooting but these days one can never be sure what really happened Hopefully we will find out.
