MSNBC....or CURRENT TV, Can you hear us?
This weekend is a glaring example of why we need weekend coverage. I caught a post on DU earlier that was not given the support it deserved. With the GOP mouth piece, spinning their coverage like a damn top, the news coverage was essentially made up considering FOX New's alterations.

If MSNBC cannot step up to the plate, we should lobby Mr Gore, Current TV would jump immediately if they gave coverage to the weekend.

1. I hate to say it, but sometimes I find myself turning to Fox News on w/e's to
see if anything major is going on ... it's revolting and if it's RW spew I switch the channel immediately.

2. Does fox actually have anything except right wing spew?
Only time I see any fox is sports or when I go into an establishment where they have the tv's tuned in to fox and in those places I ask that the channel be changed and if not I leave. I'm not going to listen to the shit they air, simple as that.
Weekend or not.

Shep Smith is on he's pretty good. Why he stays at Fox is beyond me, must get paid really well. Yeah, 99% of it's shit. I was telling someone today, just click the channels, every time you land on Fox they're always ranting or raving some RW crap about this or that. It's a disgusting channel.

14. Good for you! Fox is not alone in the spew department. This morning I
about gagged listening to Steve Forbes on CNN. He repeated the spew several times on what this country needs to make an economic recovery. I can't tell you what his proposals were because I dismissed them one by one. Let's put it this way, his ideas wouldn't be helpful to the average American. What I noticed most though was what he omitted: revenues on the rich and JOBS!

16. I quite watching cnn when dr Kupta done a hit piece on Michael Moores Sicko
so its been a few years now since I've tuned in to them. I only watch m$nbc for Rachael and Lawrence. I try to catch KO on Current but it comes on at 7 pm here and i'm generally still out piddling on projects about the place or soaking in the pool at that time so I don't get to watch much of Keith like I'd like to. When winter gets here I'll be able to tune in more often.

Greed is killing our country and our way of life just as sure as the sun will set in the west this evening.

9. What I usually use is Roku on the main TV if I'm not at the PC, and on Roku I
look at RT, Thom Hartmann and AJZ. If I'm in the kitchen sometimes I flip on Fox News on a weekend just to see if the world's ended. It's always a remote moment when I flip on Fox News, Ruby, as I always feel Fox News is eating my brain!:) :hi:

12. Should add BBC News Channel on your Roku.
It may be the UK domestic version of the BBC News Channel but if there is significant breaking news in the USA, BBC News will cover it.

15. I know that feeling
I can feel my IQ drop just watching clips from them, although I do admit that I like Shepard Smith. He comes across as swimming against the tide at times.

4. Ocasionally I will click over to CNN.
But lately I have been running away from CNN like the plague. Although I did watch Gloria Borger on CNN today, I liked her assessment. Listen, I get how CNN is trying to maintain the middle ground, however when they started commentary with Brietbart, I lost it. CNN can maintain its credibility without giving the mic to people like Brietbart.

7. I do. It just seems like a huge opportunity for whoever wants to pick it up.
Especially if you have people on DU admitting they occasionally click over to the network of lies.

10. Leave it to non US media to cover things.
It is sad that I hear more about what is going on in the US - at least on the world stage - via the BBC than any other US media outlet.

But then the western world has always AFAIK had a weekend media coverage issue. I don't know of a non dedicated news channel that doesn't reduce weekend coverage.

As for what is happening at Current, I have no clue whatsoever. Right now it seems to be more KO TV than anything. Countdown isn't even shot in widescreen, let alone high definition - which really surprises me since if a small budget local low power digital tv station can go high def (well - 720p anyway) then surely Current can? Keith didn't seem impressed with my twitter suggestion that they offer the cable companies that already carry Current a high definition stream for no additional cost. I appreciate and do watch/listen to Keith's show on a number of nights but there's obviously something behind the scenes that we don't know about yet.
