A caller just made an interesting point on a Sirius left talk show. She
that even though she is disappointed in some of the President's choices, she refuses to bash him because every right wing show is touting the rethugs as heroes even though people know that they are responsible for bringing the country to the brink of disaster. They do not deviate from their talking points. Whenever you tune in to a left leaning show it is a nonstop bash Obama fest. She felt that we are making the rethugs job easy for them as they watch us implode.

1. We EXPECT more from our own. They don't care about anything (except $).

I am proud to be among those who still want what's best for the country. I respect her opinion but I don't feel its honest for me to pretend its all OK just because the *craziest people on the planet do.

*edited to clarify that I'm talking about the insane right not other democrats.

5. The republicans don't sell out their base at EVERY opportunity

Most people don't "bash" the President just for the hell of it. The administration has shown nothing but contempt for the left. Contempt and disdain. Guantanamo, tribunals, war, bush tax cuts, catfood commission, public option, and on and on and on. Nothing but contempt.

6. "The Left" in this case being traditional, long term Democrats...
...who support the traditional Democratic values of FDR & LBJ.

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans.
I want a party that will STAND UP for Working Americans."
