Forgotten rule that bans use of large farm equipment on Sundays might be dropped
Forgotten rule that bans use of large farm equipment on Sundays might be dropped

New Jersey is considering lifting a 40-year-old ban on using large farm equipment on Sundays and holidays. Many farmers in the state are actually unaware of the rule, which was implemented at a time when working on Sundays was frowned upon, and is not actively enforced.

The story inspired user marine1967 to share a list of other little-known New Jersey laws. Some will have you asking: are these for real?

Another of New Jersey's stupid laws, that was never enforced or even known about. Here are a few more, that our esteemed lawmakers might want to review.

It is illegal to wear a bullet-proof vest while committing a murder.
All motorists must honk before passing another car, bicyclist, skater, and even a skateboarder.
It is against the law for a man to knit during the fishing season.
It is against the law to “frown” at a police officer.

1. The first one I don't have a problem. The last three are out-dated or idiotic.
If one is wearing a bullet-proof vest in the commission of a crime it is evidence of intent to commit a crime that may result in murder or injury.

2. 2 more
If you have been convicted of driving while intoxicated, you may never again apply for personalized license plates.

Why not? They could have personalize license plate that says "DWI".

Car dealerships are forbidden from opening on Sunday. If the law says from opening then it would be okay to open on Saturday and keep it open until they want to close on Sunday. That way the dealership doesn't open the doors on Sunday.

But if they have specific hours then I guess they couldn't open.

These Sunday Blue Laws are really ridiculous. It's okay for other stores to be open but not others?
