3. When you get down in the mud and fight these repubs
they curl up in a ball and holler "uncle". If only more people would believe that- and call them on their crap, this country would be the better for it.
I hate the Democratic "we must take the highroad" approach when dealing with the right. It makes us all look like a bunch weak cowards. It is no wonder why the right looks upon liberals with nothing but contempt. They think of us as pathetic. The right is like a spoiled child that lacks structure and discipline in their lives and is begging for it by acting out. At some point you got to stand up to the bully. It's time to stop coddling the bully and punch him right back where it hurts them the most.
Wisconsin is not behaving dishonorably in fighting back, they are standing up and punching back. Go Wisconsin!
6. You're right. "Taking the highroad" doesn't mean being a doormat. There is
nothing wrong with fighting back honorably and legally, when one is taken advantage of. In fact, it is iMMORAL not to do so. Some people misunderstand what MORAL means.
It's like the scene in 'Mississippi Burning' where Willem Dafoe is hesitant to use certain tactics asking Gene Hackman 'do you want me to get down in the gutter with these people?" to which Hackman replies,'you have to realize these people crawled out of the sewer'
Part of the problem, I think, is that people actually appear to believe that politicians have our best interests at heart but the vast majority do not. This allows them to get away with their criminal activity. When the electorate is engaged and politicians KNOW there will be CONSEQUENCES for their actions they are less likely to do things they know they should not.
What I find so heartening is that enough people in WI have had enough of the bullshit and are now watching every move these politicians make and are calling them out EVERY SINGLE TIME. This needs to continue not only in WI but it would be nice to see it start in the rest of the country.
