What a wonderful time it would be to vote for someone who REALLY represented my interests
Edited on Fri Aug-05-11 01:38 AM by BillyJack
Let's face it, D's and R's are the same party these days. There isn't much, if any, difference. Even Faux news confuses the D's and R's after the name (when it's convenient for them/TPTB).

Real people are sick & tired of this same ole sh*t. We don't want to "hold our nose" when we vote next time for the only "stinky choices" we are offered. I want to work and vote for a good candidate. I hope that a good candidate emerges.

What do you all think?

5. Yeah, that would be really cool. Thanks, Ralph!
And thanks in advance for posting this inspiring little screed at multiple Republican sites. Which of course you have, right? Right?!

6. Ralph! Ralph? Won't you please come back to your thread so we can all have a
robust conversation about your brilliant ideas?

Oh, sorry to be a bother. I realized you must be over at a bunch of Republican sites spreading your both-parties-are-the-same message. Right, Ralph? That's what you were doing, right? After all, you wouldn't join a site "nominally" dedicated to helping Democratic candidates for office just to depress voter turnout among Democrats, would you? No, of course you wouldn't. Because you're a true progressive, right? Sure you are.

8. And have you been sharing your urgent message at Republican sites tonight?
If so, good for you. If not, why not? I'll be up for a little while, in case you're waiting for an explanatory fax from whoever sent you here.

10. Agreed, waiting for the candidate. We have a beautiful opportunity in OR-1, and we....
are wasting it.

OR-1(David Wu's seat). The only Dems running are hacks, functionaries, or has-beens. Not one inspires a minute of my time or a dollar of my money.

This should be one of the Dem's safest seats in the country, we are on the verge of losing it, and the DLC continues to fiddle.

11. Know what you mean...
nobody running for office has proposed that we arrest 25 million registered republicans and tea baggers, seize their assets, and keep them locked up in those FEMA camps until the entire concept of "conservative" simply dies out.

I can dream...

btw :sarcasm:

13. It won't ever come through the current apparatus. Too much rot, and the Citizens United thing.
Time to go outside the box.

14. If only
If only Bernie Sanders were running for President, and we had instant-runoff voting. And probably no filibuster to stall every piece of legislation in the Senate for 2 years.

15. Well, maybe there's a good progressive running for your local school board
And you can vote for them and be happy about that. Beyond that, I don't think you'll have much luck anytime soon, at least with anyone whose name is on the ballot. We should work to change that, though.

By the way, local elections ARE very important. The presidency isn't everything. Just look at Vermont... screw the federal government, they're moving forward with single payer on their own. I think we should all be more active in local politics.
