38. Word
My husband was an avid Obama supporter, but I had huge reservations. I try not to say "I told you so", but honestly...never in my life have I been so sorry to be proven right. Obama has been a massive disappointment. We will vote "Dem", as always, but it will be a write in. We won't vote for him again.

He will spend a billion dollars of donors money, some of whom don't have all that much - and think 'austerity is for the losers' or something similar.

35. "generally supportive"
is not the same thing as donating time and money. "Generally supportive" on an anonymous web site means not advocating the defeat of a Democrat in a general election, or supporting a non-Democrat.

I gave a good deal of time and money in 2008. He's getting neither of those things in 2012.

And if he does anything to feed into the Republicans on extending the Bush tax cuts or anything involving SS, Medicare, etc. then he may not even get my vote.

My point is all of the "who are you going to vote for" stuff is premature and irritating. Lots can happen between now and election time and constant reminds of the alternative of a Republican president really isn't doing anything but pissing people off more.

I very seldom even pay attention to the name of a person making a thread or a comment. I just merely expressed an annoyance with the continued questioning of a position on a future event. I'm not obsessed but some of the people responding to me certainly seem to be.

Perception is reality and he is not perceived well right now. Though "the alternative is unthinkable" may not be the best campaign slogan, I think it holds true and might be the only hope. I'm not giving any money though, that's a sucker play. I did it last time, we got big majorities in both houses and they did nothing big and bold to correct the problems that have been plaguing this country for the past thirty years. They didn't even try.

76. Option 9) I did not volunteer or give money and I still will not in 2012.
For the lazy, broke Democrats who think dragging their carcas to the polls was enough.

81. Not planning on subsidizing the knife in my back.

No thank you. "Fool me once" was enough. Although, since I donated money to Obama during the primaries and then again during the general, you could say he's fooled me twice already.

84. In this small poll, 74% will do less for POTUS Obama in 2012 vs 2008 and
there is a plus on recs.

The posters at DU are more political junkies and pay more attention than the average American, many for decades.

The Machvellians, whether neo-conservative or neo-liberal, like the low info and emotional voters.

91. This time I won't volunteer and I won't give him even one cent.

Last time, I went without test strips for six months and contributed it to Obama's campaign because I really believed he would fight for a public option. I spent countless hours phone banking because I believed he would fight for real health care reform.

Instead, he sold us out to the crooks running the health insurance rackets.

On top of that, he has frozen my pay for three years and he's not lifting a finger to fight Republican cuts to my pension benefits. And he let the Republicans cut a billion dollars from the budget for Social Security operations. We have to close our field offices earlier to avoid overtime. People aren't getting helped. And our Whore Press could care less.

I haven't been as disgusted with a sitting president since 1979. And I'm one of those who worked in the Draft Kennedy movement. This time there is NO Kennedy to challenge the conservative in the White House. I hear the anger from people who call our phone lines. I've never heard so many say how much they hate a President like I've heard during the last year. The dam broke and the racism is pouring out on the phone lines. I got a feeling we're in for a rerun of 1980.

When the primary comes around, I will write in Bernie Sanders for President. And in the General Election, I honestly don't know what I will do. I will vote for Real Democrats in down ticket races.

92. Maybe I'm more positive now because he was my least favorite Democratic "final 3" candidate in 2008
so my expectations of him were pretty low since I had him pegged as the least liberal of him, Hillary, and Edwards. I pretty much expected him to be a fairly middle of the road guy so anytime he does anything remotely liberal, it's a pleasant surprise.

I also remember just how crappy it is living under a Republican president. Day after day, week after week, outrage after outrage, to the point where the proverbial ham sandwich would be a significant improvement, just due to it's inability to do any further active damage to the country.

So yes, I will probably donate some money and probably put up a bumper sticker of some sort (if only just to piss of teabaggers). In terms of further activism, I don't know mainly because my state, Missouri, is no longer considered a swing state so any further activism may be pointless in terms of the presidential race.
