Only Six TRVE DEMOCRATS™ Left - We're Well and Truly Doomed!
Edited on Wed Aug-03-11 03:06 PM by MineralMan
Well, it's almost over, kids. There are only six (well, maybe seven) TRVE DEMOCRATS™ left in the U.S. Senate. According to what I'm reading, all the rest are just DINOS and should be primaried and replaced. They've all caved and are no longer worthy of our attention when they speak. Farewell to you all. Farewell...

Democratic Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Tom Harkin (Iowa), Frank Lautenberg (N.J.), Robert Menendez (N.J.), Jeff Merkley (Ore.) and Ben Nelson (Neb.) as well as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who caucuses with Democrats, all voted no, joining the Republicans in voting against the debt ceiling bill. These are we have left now. Never mind Al Franken. He's history. He's caved. All caved. All gone. All worthless now.

All hope is gone. We are truly doomed!

Please excuse me for the time being. I have a bowl of nice nightcrawlers waiting for me.

3. Yes. But so few...almost none are left.
What is to become of us? When will they make an end to it?

Ach, du lieber. Alles ist weg...

2. Always remember that the sainted Paul Wellstone
voted for the infernal Defense of Marriage Act.

One vote does not a Democrat make (or break).

Are there none who will be true? Are there none who will stand for everything I believe and never waver? I'm just at my wits end, you know.

5. Didn't Paul apologize for that vote? ETA link
Edited on Wed Aug-03-11 03:16 PM by EFerrari
In 1996, he voted in favor of the Defense of Marriage Act.<12> He later asked his supporters to educate him on the issue and by 2001, when he wrote his autobiography, Conscience of a Liberal, Wellstone admitted that he had made a mistake. -- from his Wiki entry.

10. Funny, there is always the fringe trashing Obama and NEVER acknowledging any progress no matter
how significant that progress is.

I have my problems with Obama. But I am in the reality based community. I know that overall he's moving us leftwards.

On the other hand, there is. He voted the same as all those Republicans, just like the other six. Maybe he convince them to take his position. Who knows?

23. Well, you have to look at the letter after their name, you see.
The Republicans voted no because, well, I'm not sure. But the Democrats voted no because they're progressives. Like that Ben Nelson, you see. He has a "D" after his name, and he voted no, so know I know that he's a TRVE DEMOCRAT, since they're the only Democrats who voted no.

Is that helping you clarify things? The rule is: If you have a "D" after your name and you voted NO, then you're good and a progressive, and that stuff. Everyone else is something else...

28. Well, tourmaline isn't the only thing you may encounter there.
So, don't toss anything that has any transparency. Show it to someone who can identify it. But, if you're digging in one of the gem mines there, mostly, you'll find tourmalines.

30. I was surprised to learn tourmaline was in Maine
I have read about it being on the west coast...

From what I have read they have:

Minerals observed at this locale include tourmaline (green, pink, blue, watermelon), biotite, garnet, beryl (aquamarine, morganite, green, white) eosphorite, cassiterite, cookeite, flourapatite, hydroxylapatite, hydroxyl-herderite, columbite, microcline, montmorillonite, muscovite, pollucite, quartz (milky, smokey, rose xls.), rhodochrosite, siderite, schorl (tourmaline), spodumene and many others.

I hope I find some tourmaline, but I will settle just for the experience of looking. Both I and my sweet heart will be going together... I hope to find a stone for a particular ring, if ya know what I mean? More of a symbolic jesture since she will get a diamond from me as well(small but meaningful).

Thanks for the tip! After I get back, I'll let ya know what I find!

37. No the OP is using very high level humor
Edited on Wed Aug-03-11 10:48 PM by Armstead
Don't you understand that anyone who whines about this Grand Compromise is a hysterical Emo Progressive, and their delusion would cause them to jump to incorrect conclusions?

The OP brilliantly uses subtle humor to expose how Obama Derangement Syndrome causes these fringe leftists to distort reality.

I think it is brilluant, and I can't wait to re-read it and savor these nuances again.

Aw heck. I guess you're right, as I probably inadvertantly just illustrated.
