Anyone going to townhalls

2. Why bother, they dont work for us. Oh wait, are you going to throw a pie
or occupy their offices? That's cool I could support that.

I can't believe they're going to dangle "townhalls" in front of the idiot teabaggers again this year. How many fights are we going to see? How much vandalism? How many of these teabaggers are going to carry assault rifles to intimidate, or even shoot the place up?

7. Dems act as though they are afraid to..
confront these assholes. We are the constiuents in those areas too.

The CONS took over the healthcare debate because Dems didn't come out.

The Dems didn't do anything to fight the CONS when Obama first took office and they all try to pretend as though they are surprised about the deviousness of the republiCON party.

Where in the hell have they been.

My friends and I are planning on attending some and we are talking to others about it now..

Are you saying that Dems are afraid to go because of intimidation?

8. I hope you plan on making a stink. It's the only way to get noticed.
Who gets more coverage, the constituent who asks thoughtfully worded questions or the guy who screams?

The townhalls have become a silly circus. Odds are your Reps don't give a damn about you, nor do they want to listen to your position. So unless you're going to throw a shoe, you're wasting your time and effort.

I will caution you to beware the gun nuts/teabaggers who will most definitely show up to any Progressive, democratic, female, or minority Reps townhalls.

9. So if we are afraid of them..
and if we don't speak up what do you think will happen? Are they suppose to be somehow badder than us.They need to be challenged on their bullshit!

Were the people in the sixties afraid? Are you afraid? I say fuck'em..

3. The congressman who represents my district is a freshman republican who is representing a very blue
district. He made a big announcement last week about how he was going to have town halls all over the district. When you read the fine print, you see how it's actually his STAFFERS who are coming by in "mobile town halls" to "listen to the concerns" of his constituents.

4. Excellent question
People could make the progressive arguments outside the DU echo chamber. Challenge those widely-held (and believed) RW talking points face-to-face, where there has to be a response. Take them out of their comfort zone, even a little. Do the job the media fails to do.

Great idea.

5. Why in the hell do they..
get so many breaks and vacations? They spend months on one or two issues until the next election.

Why aren't we the ones deciding when and if they receive pay raises, benefits and how, when or if they get vacations?
