Regarding the Tea Party and these Social Security/Medicare Cuts

We all knew that the Tea Party was an astroturf campaign to make a good number of the elderly on the right more concerned with President Obama's ethnic background and appealed to their inner racism, but I'm sure I'm not the only one that remembers this gem:

"Keep your government hands off of my Medicare and Social Security."

Now that the same Tea Party caucus this group has elected has actually been able to hold the country hostage to get a bill signed doing just that (having the government actually place its hands on these two government programs it administers and place cuts on them), where are the old folks with the rascal scooters and the lawn chairs and the mis-spelled, witch doctor photos?

I'm serious about this. Where are these people? Has anyone interviewed these people in the last month or so?

Again: where does this myth come from that the deal includes Social Security and Medicare cuts, when the exact opposite is true?
