Maybe it really IS eleven dimensional chess . . .
Edited on Mon Aug-01-11 10:12 PM by Faryn Balyncd

(We just thought that ending the wars, ending the PATRIOT act, ending gitmo, reversing the Bush/Cheney executive power grabs, passing Medicare for All (or a public option for a start), repealing the Bush tax giveaways to the plutocrats, defending the Social Compact in general (and Social Security and Medicare specifically), prosecuting war criminals, restoring constitutional process to the process of starting wars . . . . . . . .

We thought these were the GOALS.

Stupid us!)

:kick:

1. Calibi-Yau spaces.
The higher dimensions of the game are furled into Calibi-Yau spaces. Our side is actually winning, but you can only discern that fact using arcane higher math. We need Brian Greene to interpret. :D

2. Where did you get your "goals"
My take on your comments:

Candidate Obama said he wanted to wind down the Iraq War and refocus on Afghanistan and Al Queda and get Bin Laden - done

He campaigned on Universal Health Coverage - on its way, tho no public option yet. (he never campaigned on medicare for all)

He tried with the Bush tax cuts for the rich - but they were coupled with middle class tax cuts which he also campaigned to DEFEND - Congress wouldn't decouple - so he leveraged an unemployment extension, repeal of DADT and an arms treaty right after the left laid down and handed congress to the tea baggers. - win in my book.

Defending the social compact - I have not seen any evidence that he hasn't. The programs continue - virtually untouched on the benefits side.

reversing executive power grabs - how has he disappointed you with this? did you want him to invoke the 14th? What is the story here?

Prosecuting war criminals and a constitutional process for war - what is the context here - what did candidate Obama say and what is the criticism?

3. there's the new campaign slogan
"yes I tried" "yes I tried"

No, he didn't. He even gave a speech explaining why he wasn't going to bother to fight.

I didn't vote for him because he promised to defend the tax cuts for the upper middle class. I voted for the other promise - the one he didn't keep. He only kept the promise I didn't even want him to make.

That's a huge loss in my book.
