option if it had come to that.

Yeah... right.

Pretty easy to say after the grand capitulation.

A Democrat would have refused to give away the farm and just done it!

Hell, any real patriot would have done it.

Because in America we don't negotiate with terrorists.

But that's just what Obama did.

edited for spelling

3. "some say"
Remember when we thought that was a crappy way to make a claim?

Barney should back up his statement or shut up.

8. Peter DeFazio has said that Uncle Joe told them Obama would do it.
I believe that guy. There's no more honest member of Congress than Peter DeFazio.

What's mystifying to me is that Obama did not exploit this angle. I happen to think that if he used this leverage, the Repubs would be forced to cave.

11. Not really what Frank said, and he tried to explain,
for those who are interested in important nuance.

LO asked if it was true that Biden said POTUS WOULD use it, and Frank tried to be perfectly clear that Biden had said something like ONLY under 'extreme' circumstances might PrezO use it.

12. "if it had come to that" was the phrase used to represent the 'extreme' circumstance of no agreement
on the bill, leaving the US open to defaulting.

13. In the hypothetical, the projected and the abstract, he's THE MOST POWERFUL LEADER EVER.
In reality, he's the "coolest guy in the room".
