I think people who have followed this debt ceiling fiasco realize it is mere posturing for 2012 mainly by the Tea Party, but the president has managed to posture himself as willing to discuss any alternatives. Sadly, the president is losing this life long liberal Democrat. Anyone, especially a Democratic president, who is willing to talk cuts to the BIG 3 - Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid - has forgotten what being a Democrat means.

FDR fought to get Social Security. JFK and LBJ pushed to make Medicare and Medicaid a reality. Now Obama is willing to play poker with the BIG 3?
