Anyone think there will be a run on Banks?
Edited on Sat Jul-30-11 11:23 PM by maryellen99
Someone on Fox suggested that everyone should keep $1,000 in cash at home. I could totally see the repukes trying to start a run on the banks.

10. Nothing would surprise me. Would people trust the FDIC anymore...
...to insure our deposits if the gov't defaulted? If not, bang goes our (remaining) trust in the banks, and the run happens.

11. Tonight on Fox, a serious woman from Powers and Assoc.
recommended that people convert a great portion of
their savings, assets to cash. She said Banks might
not be able to make loans.

13. A thousand bucks would disappear in the blink of an eye if there's big trouble.
But luckily there'll be no bank runs.

15. If it was going to happen it already would have.
The crisis has been going on for several weeks now. I think anyone that was going to withdraw their money has done so already. I would do that if I thought it would make a bit of difference if the economy tanks.

You can have $1,000,000 at home under the bed, it's still gonna be useless ass-wipe come Tuesday morning.

We're royally screwed. Unless you can exchange what you have for Dinars or Yuans first thing Monday

19. yes.
people will not feel safe about banks, bank's intentions, or the spin about the failed full faith and credit of the govt. If the govt is broke, people will think, how can FDIC protect my money? With what?
