(Time to re-visit something I wrote more than 15 years ago. “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” was a Beatles song supposedly about hallucinations on LSD, although the Beatles denied that. This is a song about Republicans hallucinating on their favorite mind-alterant, greed. Words by me, except for the ones kept from the original Beatles song. This was written in 1994-1995. If I updated it today, I'd have to add something about their other favorite mind-alterant, hate.)

With Laffer Gas fancies and trickle down highs.
Somebody calls them, they answer quite quickly,
Some rich guys with greed in their eyes.
Cheshire Cat numbers of mirrors and smoke
Billowing over your head.
Look for the megabucks trickle-ing down

Follow it down to a trillion buck shortage
Where lobbyist visions meet wallowing greed.
Everyone smiles at the Reagan-Bush debt pile
That grew so incredibly high.
S & L thieves and Mike Milken and crowd
Waiting to take you again.
Trickle down theorists stick needles in dolls
And they fly!
