HOW MANY DEMOCRATS LIKE MYSELF WANT THE PRESIDENT TO HOLD FIRM AND VETO ANY SHORT TERM BILL THAT DOESN'T MAKE THIS 3 RING CIRCUS GO BEYOND THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION? Ithink its time to bury those "A$$ HOLES " WHO ARE TRYING TO TO KIDNAP OUR GOVERNMENT! STAND UP AND LET YOUR CONGRESSMEN KNOW YOU MEAN BUSINESS! I AM CALLING RIGHT NOW!
I also heard that the head of IMF said that S&P has NO BUSINESS being an arbitrator in this fight. This shit is so surreal -- I'd run SOOO far from this screwed up country if I had the $. Just one woman's opinion.
They need to raise taxes and put people back to work. Obama's jobs policy has failed and he needs to change it. Cutting social programs is not the answer to anything.
20. Hold firm on WHAT? His plan to cut Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid?
If you want his idea for how to move this circus' next performance out to beyond HIS reelection - THAT's his idea. Cut Social Security. Cut Medicare. Cut Medicaid.
Fuck that. Him too.
Now if he had come out saying The Government of the United States cannot be run by extortion threats! Then that would be a position I would support him holding fast to. We cannot allow this without irreparable damage to the working of government, not just specific policies of that government. If this hostage taking works at all then we will have a different form of government than what the Constitution created, and it will continue "working" by threats of unleashing widespread destruction: ie. government by terrorism.
That kind of government is an unstable compound that will blow sky high and quite soon.
Without doubt you can pick out the ones who lean with the right. Most are well meaning hard working americans easily led by the media. My feeling is the president doesn't want to cut any social programs but is willing to negotiate with the right that is demanding this. several replies ignore this fact! just my observation but THEY have chosen already to allow the tea party group financed by the ultra rich right TO DICTATE THE RULES! My feeling is that both sides need to do their jobs. The president does not need to set the agenda the congress does. And he has every right to say he will sign or veto certain things! I suggest a few of you research how many times Bush or any former president has used the media and the power of the veto to steer congress! To keep this media circus going an to cause a political circus when the top job of the country is due for election is far from what the majority of people expect or want. To risk the credit rating of the country for political gain is an absolute travesty of our system. the hardship to the workers will be to much to endure! But I WOULD PREFER A COMPROMISE FROM BOTH SIDES ;OR A VETO IF THE RIGHT REFUSES TO BUDGE!
