Brownback seeks disaster declarations for Kansas
TOPEKA | Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback has asked U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to issue disaster declarations for several counties experiencing losses from drought and severe weather.

In a letter this week, Brownback requested that drought disasters be declared for Kiowa, Marion, McPherson and Pratt counties. They would be added to 46 counties for which drought disasters have already been declared this year.

Brownback has also requested an agricultural disaster declaration for 10 counties hit by floods, hail and high winds. Those counties are Atchison, Clay, Doniphan, Kiowa, Leavenworth, Osborne, Pratt, Sedgwick, Wallace and Wyandotte.

The governor says the extreme conditions have taken a toll on crop production and livestock across the state. He's seeking eligibility for federal emergency loan and other agriculture aid.

4. Brownback
Another religious Republican nut that is against Federal spending until he wants it; just like Perry in Texas.

I was born and raised in Kansas and I can't believe how crazy this State has become.

Does anyone else see the hypocrisy of the Tea Party congress persons who are all against Federal spending unless it is for their own districts. Also, based on reports, a bunch of the freshman congress persons who are backed by the Tea Party are getting Federal funded subsidies for their personal use.

Sometimes hit Galt's Gulch. I hope this doesn't happen because of the people affected by this disaster, but wouldn't Brownback be hoist on his own petard if the failure to raise the debt ceiling prevented assistance for his constituents.

8. Where are your bootstraps Sam?
Sorry can't afford it Sam, billionaires and millionaires need their tax cuts.

Besides if your prayers for rain were not answered by God then obliviously you and Kansas are being PUNISHED by him for a transgression of some sort.

I am not getting between you and God.

When God decides it is time for you to have rain, then you will get rain.

Until then STFU and stop whining.

and that if he wants this reality to be otherwise, he can damn-well get is ass on the phone to his GOP/'Bagger colleagues and lobby the hell out of them to raise the debt ceiling.

What an ass.

13. Well, Kansas should be considered a disaster area as long as Brownback is governor.
Just as Texas should as long as Perry is governor.

But neither state should receive federal monies for these self-inflicted disasters.
