Rick Perry’s ‘Texas taint’ will demolish 2012 plans: Fox commentator
Source: Raw Replay
By Kase Wickman

Unlike many conservatives who are breathlessly awaiting Texas Governor Rick Perry’s entry into the 2012 presidential race, Fox Business correspondent Charlie Gasparino isn’t holding his breath for a Perry presidency. Gasparino was a guest on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday.

“I talk to a lot of Wall Street guys . . . you know I don’t think a guy from Texas can win again,” he said. “I just think there’s a Texas taint to it all. And I know the big money on the street in New York, I don’t think they’re going to go for a Texan.”

2. I hope that's true. Maybe Wall Street has longer memories than many voters.
Especially CONservative voters and teabaggers.

18. Perhaps one from the "be careful what you wish for" file?
They asked for this, didn't they? They wanted it. They maneuvered and manipulated and used their money and power and influence, and now the ugly little piranha they sponsored, nurtured, flattered, overfed, and brought in - is about to eat THEM and everything they care about.

20. Uh-huh.
Ya know... Austin is becoming the third armpit of Texas, supposedly after Dallas and Houston }(

Let us Houton-DUers show you around Houston again. You might be surprised :)

Oh yeah, does Austin have anything like this?

7. Anybody know who Rove is behind? Romney or Perry? Rumsfeld's elves are schooling Perry on foreign
Policy. Which is a very frightening thing to me.

12. Rove is gushing for Perry

"half of all new jobs created are in Texas"

and so on.

Rove won't bad mouth Romney but knows that he can't get the nomination without a lot of blood letting and would get waxed by Obama in the general.

Given the Bush's antipathy towards Perry I can only imagine that Rove et al want Perry to run so that it keeps the base intact so that it will be in place to run the next generation of Republicans ala Brown and Rubio in 2016.
