65 children at Y Pool forced to lower swimsuits after feces found in pool
Edited on Thu Jul-21-11 04:43 PM by RamboLiberal
About 65 children attending summer camp at the Robert K. Fox Family Y were told Tuesday to lower their bathing suits so counselors could visually inspect the suits after feces was found in the swimming pool.

-----

The campers are in the fourth to sixth grades.

After the fourth occurrence on Tuesday, counselors asked the children if anyone was sick or had a problem. No one came forward. So, the child-care director who supervises the counselors directed them to take the children two by two into the girls and boys locker rooms and shower areas, require them to turn around facing away from the counselors, and lower their swim shorts for inspection, Lieber said.

The children then pulled up their bathing suits and showered, he said.

Wonder if there is one joker in the crowd or a kid with a medical problem, but sure not fair that 64 others were humiliated.

1. I have ceased swimming in pools after reading an article that pools where children swim are filthier
than pools where only adults swim. It scared the heebee jeebies out of me. And then not long after that, my sister went into a pool that was primarily frequented by children, and got herself quite the urinary tract infection. In fact, it took 3 months and 3 rounds of antibiotic to get rid of it. E. coli in a pool is no laughing matter.

16. A properly maintained pool is safe from ecoli
The chem levels are sufficient to protect bathers even if there is a shit floating in the pool, as long as they do not physically contact the shit.

17. LOL! I'm sorry but I'd have to see a lab do a test on that poop and prove the E. Coli on it is all
dead.

20. Not on it, in the water. The chem levels are sufficient if properly maintained.
You could swim right past a crap and be OK, but don't touch it!

6. Presumably...

...it was to look for remaining, uh, evidence in the suit liner.

Stupid, but not without purpose.

8. Also they could tell the parent if they knew which child it was.
A child could be sick, it would be important for the parent to know if their child has diarrhea for instance.

4. Oh and the other gross pool story of the day

An Indiana couple was busted on public indecency charges for a 30-minute sexual encounter in a pool packed with two dozen disgusted witness - including some kids, according to police in Connersville, Ind.

Police officer Myron Helms, 33, and Victoria Cross, 40, were charged after their erotic Sunday splashdown at the Roberts Park Family Aquatic Center, TheSmokingGun.com reported.

The pool manager called the cops about the underwater action after confirming the complaints of witnesses with her own eyes.

7. Having them shower was, at least, a good idea

If they had been in the water, then they should have taken a shower reasonably promptly.

9. The one and only episode of "Undercover Boss" that I have ever watched....
featured an employee directing the undercover boss to clean up some feces in the water at a water park. Obviously, families with children are the primary visitors. There was no investigation to discover the perpetrator. Visitors paid for the privilege of using the facilities and the staff had policies and procedures in place for dealing with the inevitable consequences of catering to children. I don't see why families that are "Y" members should be subjected to this kind of humiliation. Not to mention the unfortunate reality that children are sometimes unsafe in the presence of authority figures. My nephew's day care providers do not (as policy) assist children in the bathroom for this very reason. If I were a parent, there is no way I would send my child back to that camp.

14. I think these counselors were incredibly lax in waiting till the fifth pool-shit.
Edited on Thu Jul-21-11 07:16 PM by Poll_Blind
Seriously, fecal matter in water which can get into people's noses, mouths or come in contact with their genitals, eyes or fuck-all, pretty much any part of their body is not only no joke, it's a serious health problem and a huge liability, to boot.

I'm sorry the others had to be embarrassed, but I'd like to assume the camp counselors are not pervs and were also making the requests of the children in a respectful manner. We've got 3 kids here at the house, one is my son and the other two are my girlfriend's boys. If they had to go through this sort of inspection I would be upset that it happened but what the hell else can possibly be done to get to the bottom of a child just taking a shit in a pool?

If the secret-shitter was sick that disease/bacteria/virus could have leapfrogged into the bodies of all of those children and that concerns me a lot more than kids having to moon the camp counselor to prove they didn't launch a sub.

19. humiliating enough to go two by two for inspection but
Edited on Thu Jul-21-11 08:32 PM by ellenfl
then imagine the humiliation of the other child knowing that you pooped in the pool. might as well have all the kids in the room at once. :eyes: do they really think they will find 'evidence' this way? this is just bizarre. what if 5 different kids did it? i guess it's better to humiliate one or more children than lose the entrance fee.

the parents should have been advised and handled it.

23. If you read the snippet/article, this was the _fourth_ time it had happened.
Fourth shit in the pool and the jig is up.

As far as your questioning looking in the swim trunks, bathing suits for evidence...you think if someone take a defecates while wearing a bathing suit that it's not going to leave quite a crime scene on whatever they're wearing?

undergo a poop detector test to determine who pooped in the lake.
