Surprise, surprise! The Republican platform boils down to, "oppose absolutely everything Barack Obama does." Elizabeth Warren would have been a fantastic director, and hopefully this nominee will be even 1/10th as good as should would have been.

3. Elizabeth Warren on Richard Cordray's nomination to head the CFPB
Here: Elizabeth Warren on Richard Cordray's nomination to head the CFPB

From the Politico article.

<...>

A person familiar with Warren’s thinking said that she very much wanted the job, but acknowledged that she would not be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Her first choice, that person said, was her deputy Raj Date, who has long been considered a leading contender for the job.

<...>

So an anonymous source is throwing out speculation even though Warren has never said any such thing?

In fact, the only thing we know of her thinking is Barney Frank stating that she told him she didn't want the job.

Now, why would her first choice be Raj Date when Richard Cordray is a stronger candidate? Also, Raj Date is not very popular among some progressives.

Obviously, Politico's bullshit reporting is designed to spark outrage.

Maybe Politico could have invested some time to get an actual quote from Warren. The article linked to at the top did.

7. That is probably the only way Richard Cordray can get in. The
Chamber of Commerce hates Cordray, for good reason(from their perspective). I, of course, like him a lot.
