Lesson learned, so maybe its time to reopen the questions of Single Payer, and Bush Tax Cuts
Edited on Thu Jul-14-11 06:11 PM by ThomWV
Its certain the President has taken note; when he stands up to Republicans they collapse into a leaderless and chaotic mob, devoid of planning or negotiation skills. With this new knowledge it would be nice if he were to reopen the issue of Single Payer. It has long been a tenet of the Democratic Party that a Single-payer system will save the nation Billions if for no other reason than one efficient system costs less to operate at a high level of productivity than 5,000 independent insurance systems competing with one another for the customer's dollar - and who do not care a whit for their health. So let's give it a try. And now that the formula for success is in hand let's repeal the Bush Tax cuts to put the economy back on track and pay for the Single-payer at the same time. In fact there is no reason not to do both right now. The Republican "Leadership" is (tearfully) still in the room - just tell them you want to open up the debate to include Medicare - but not to cut benefits, payments to Doctors, or increase the age of eligibility, not this time, now the call is "Medicare for All"!

2. I don't believe that is compatible with pragmatism.
Obama only fights really hard for stuff he actually wants.
