Erickson of CNN: "At what point do the people beat their state legislator to a bloody pulp?"
Posted by Erick Erickson (Profile)

Tuesday, March 31st at 4:08PM EDT

At what point do the people tell the politicians to go to hell? At what point do they get off the couch, march down to their state legislator’s house, pull him outside, and beat him to a bloody pulp for being an idiot?

At some point soon, it will happen. It’ll be over an innocuous issue. But the rage is building. It’s not a partisan issue. There is bipartisan angst at out of control government made worse by dumb bans like this and unintended consequences like AIG’s bonus problems.

If the GOP plays its cards right, it will have a winning issue in 2010. But it is going to have to get back to “leave me the hell alone” style federalism where the national government recedes and the people themselves will have to fight to take their states back from special interests out of touch with body politic as a whole.

Were I in Washington State, I’d be cleaning my gun right about now waiting to protect my property from the coming riots or the government apparatchiks coming to enforce nonsensical legislation.

Within a year of writing that, the supposed lawyer and blogger had been hired by CNN as a commentator. He talks of violence against legislators (for the unspeakable idea of regulating phosphates that can harm the environment!), and of perhaps using his gun on someone trying to enforce such a regulation.

How can CNN possibly justify any connection with such a violent rabble-rouser after the Tucson massacre? How much more 'out of control' can a man be?

2. "I’d be cleaning my gun right about now" CNN is as bad as Fox
Fox is making me sick right now, they have a priest on and it's 100% syrup and cotton candy with daiseys and unicorns.

They are focusing on the shooter's illnes to deflect their culpability in fanning the flames of violence.

4. I worked for the Census this past year
and I referenced this case in a question. I was assured that I would not be arrested and fined (6 mos in jail and/or $250K fine) for reporting a threat to my person. Any other release of identifying information to anyone other than my supervisor could result in jailtime/fines.
