Top Dems: ERIC CANTOR HAS TO GO!
:smoke: :smoke: :smoke:
:applause:

" Behind the scenes, leading members of both parties have concluded that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) is an impediment to resolving the debt limit standoff, and should back down. Now, Democrats are publicly calling for him to get real or go home.

"House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has shown that he's shouldn't even be at the table," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) in a blistering floor speech Thursday morning. "And Republicans agree."

In a press conference shortly after Reid's floor speech, one of his top deputies, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) explained the Dems' frustrations.

"He is basically standing in the way," Schumer said. "It can't just be Eric Cantor deciding everything. If Eric Cantor decides everything, I fear we'll be in default."

6. I don't think they truly know who is their leadership.
Boehner is very incompetent and Cantor is just too childish. I think they all believe they are the leaders and so no one is..

4. No!
Eric Cantor is a public simpleton, an out and proud licker of Boehner's orange buttocks , a transparent sycophant , and an idiot.
Keep him!

19. One small correction.
Cantor despises Boehner, undercuts him with Teabagger footsoldiers at every turn, did not vote for Boehner to be Speaker, and would gladly knife Boehner in the back if it advances him, politically.

Cantor sees himself as President one day, and will stop at nothing to get there.

25. That is the truth!
Cantor is out for Cantor. To hell with the USA....and Boehner is just a rock on the sidewalk to the dreams of glory for Eric the Nut.

27. Correct
I did not know he did not vote for Bohener. Do you know who he did vote for as an alternative? But I agree, Boehner probably wants him outof the way at least as much as Reid and Schumer. All in all, I almost feel sorry for Boehner (but then I remember his "Hell NO!" speech and I stop).

5. Not defending Cantor, but getting distracted with one person
weakens the Democratic argument.

What if they spent that energy and time makung the
case for Democratic Principles??? Oh we do not have
any????

This sort of thing just makes the Republicans rally round.

Most people with common sense know Cantor is out there.

For God sakes can we not attack what he stands for???
Or are there too many Democrats on the Hill who would
vote with him.

20. They should be hammering Cantor's ass into the drywall with it.
" According to Congressional Democrats, Cantor may have another motive for not raising the debt ceiling.

Several House Democrats have circulated a resolution questioning Cantor's investment in ProShares Trust Ultrashort 20+ Year Treasury ETF, a fund that "takes a short position in long-dated government bonds."

In effect, Cantor is betting against U.S. government bonds. If the United States does default on its debts, the value of his investment would increase substantially. Which raises at least the appearance of a serious conflict of interest...."

24. It should be out there in public on a daily basis that Cantor wants the USA to fail
so he can make money.

he BET for the US to fall?

8. Stupid strategy
Obama should be giving him a taller platform from which Cantor can publicly hang the entire Republican Party!

These calls from the Dems to for the Rethugs to bench their worst player is stoopid.

9. Wrong- the more they attack Cantor, the more the Teabaggers want him there, the more they
insist on NOT RAISING TAXES which means no deal at all.

Which means running out the clock until Republicans have no option but to just raise the debt ceiling in a clean bill or cause a default with it being 100% their fault.

12. Cantor's voice sours the milk in my fridge.
I confess to enjoying a certain imaginary scenario in which my 92 year old mother grabs Cantor by his ear and takes him into another room for her patented "talking-to."

Spoiled brats who are invested in a negative outcome should not have a seat at the table. Yeah, tell it to George Bush. . .

15. My dog is far brighter than Eric Can't-or
Blathering Eric just wants to be on TV 24/7 showing everyone in America what a real Idiot looks like. He could give a fuck less what happens to this country as long as he gets his face time. He reminds me of Rick Santorum. He just can't believe that nobody in their right mind likes him. How stupid are the fools that elect an ass like that?

16. GOP has cracked...
One side we have Cantor jockying for leadership playing to the baggers, Boehner trying to hold leadership of the entire group, stunned to silence in a fetal position. Just who is controlling the GOP party?
