San Franciscans understand what a "target list" is all about

If you ever visit San Francisco City Hall, you'll right away notice the metal detectors on either side of the entrance. Contrary to popular belief, they were not installed because of the assassinations of Supervisor Harvey and Mayor George Moscone (Dan White crawl through a basement window to avoid them). They were installed after the People's Temple issued a "hit list" of local political figures, the top of which then-Board President Dianne Feinsten was on. Returning to Dan White, many people do not know that he had a target list in addition to Milk and Moscone. He also wanted to kill then-Supervisor Carol Ruth Silver and Assemblyman Willie Brown. So here in San Francisco, we take talk of "target lists" very seriously.
