He passed on Saturday. He had cancer, and he was a wonderful, kind, intelligent poster. He was my friend.

108. I just remembered that hayu_lol sent me a pm in March. It was out of the blue, a very kind

compliment for an OP I had written. I was familiar with his username, but couldn't remember much about him except a long-held sense of kindred spirit without any specific reference point. (He being a fellow longtime DUer)

I'm glad to see that I replied right away and thanked him, although I greatly regret that I did not take better advantage of the opening and made more of an attempt to correspond with him more.

I feel blessed for even that small bit of personal contact. What he wrote to me was very sweet and special. And especially precious in the face of this sad news.
