ReTHUGS said their only task was to make Obama fail
They have lifted the debt ceiling for every other President before - this is beyond economics - those fugging teabaggers and much of the ReTHUG leadership are racists.

They don't care what is destroyed - they are going to destory Obama.

If I were Obama I would have told them no fucking deal from day one.
Fuck Mitch the chinless! Fuck Boehner the orange man and fuck Cantor the treason scumbag.

1. I would have told them no fucking deal from day one.
I would have too, so why does Obama play their game?

3. I believe you are partially correct.
Not all Republicans are racists, but most of them want the Democratic party to fail, no matter what is destroyed. They would have behaved in the same way if Clinton had won.

4. Probably
They hate Democrats but Obama has shattered their caricature of the black male so the hate is way deeper.

5. They want Obama to be a one-term president
McConnell said it himself -- stated it as their #1 priority/goal.

And I personally believe they've sent minions here as trolls. Every day there is more and more in-fighting around here about EVERYTHING.

13. "They want Obama to be a one-term president"
I've heard that same hope expressed here on DU too, and in those same words!

16. McConnell stated it outright.
It's all they care about.

8. It's hard to blame only the Republicans when the Democrats have done zip
about the framing.

Why doesn't everyone know how many times the ceiling was lifted for that cokehead?

Why so many items like that one?

You can't play by their rules and expect a good result.

10. I agree with you
Democrats are complacent in a way that you never see with RETHUGS.
I don't think many centrist Dems understand the ideological war being waged by ReTHUGS.

9. NOTHING matters to them but their determination
to hold Obama to one term. As I said elsewhere, nothing positive will come out of congress until the republicans decide to love this country more than they hate Obama. I'm not holding my breath.

11. It's hard to watch this level of hatred and sabotage
I don't know how it hasn't affected him big time - or maybe it has.
You know that Senate filibuster pisses me off every time they use it.Cheney used to show up at the Senate and pass Bushco's bills by one vote if necessary.

I've never seen anything like this.

12. That was their very public position from day one.
The President and Leadership refused to act accordingly and with that knowledge in mind every step of the way.

The fixation with being the "Adults in the Room" is reaching insane territory.
Look it polls well but doesn't generate votes, nice thought but overrated and more often than anything gets you weenie, or worse turncoat status.

It impresses voters you already have of a certain disposition and maybe enough reachable ones to offset those that sour in response to playing the game but out by buys little or nothing while accepting slippage inherent in the required olive branches and other "good faith" offerings.

There just ain't as much gold in them hills as folks make out, otherwise it would have paid some dividends.

14. If President Obama would have said "Fuck You" then over the
last 2 years we would have heard nothing except he's an "Angry Black Man"....with a temper.

I don't know if many really appreciate the fine line the President Obama has to walk in this life of his. Many may dislike him for many of the decisions that had to be made but give the man credit for putting up with shit no other President has put up with.

The fact that President Obama is giving the Repugs something that they put on the table themselves and the Repugs are now rejecting it outright? This is about not giving the Black Man any successes because successful minorities don't fit into their world view.

If you think that pledge that Bachman and Santorum signed was an oops....we didn't really read the Slavery part.....wasn't put there on purpose and with deliberation I gotta bridge to sell you.

Make no mistake the Republicans are doing exactly as Malaise has stated....we should not be helping them.

17. Malaise, they are destroying themselves not Obama. They're going over the cliff w/ the debt default.
Unfortunately, there's a good chance it'll do harm to the rest of us.

18. Every other President save one: CARTER
one of the tidbits I learned today from Hartman.

Their objective was to make Carter a one term president too.
