But he flew straight into another storm as it was claimed 9/11 victims may have had their mobiles tapped by News of the World reporters. And there was more bad news when it was revealed nine reporters allegedly at the centre of the phone scandal and claims of police corruption could face jail, along with three officers.

After he spent time at News International’s Wapping HQ in East London, 80-year-old Mr Murdoch held crisis talks with Mrs Brooks, 43 - who denies any knowledge of the Milly phone tapping - at his home in Mayfair.

The pair chatted behind closed doors as a former New York cop made the 9/11 hacking claim. He alleged he was contacted by News of the World journalists who said they would pay him to retrieve the private phone records of the dead.

Now working as a private investigator, the ex-officer claimed reporters wanted the victim’s phone numbers and details of the calls they had made and received in the days leading up to the atrocity.

1. It's time for the dirt re: involvement in American politics...
to come to light concerning Murdock and Ailes.

Let's have this all break wide open with lightning speed.

2. Sweet Jeebus. if this doesn't destroy old Rupe
Nothing will. How much profit did he make off that? If they find hacked phones from 911, even Rudy will have to express his gravest displeasure.

3. 5th and 6th rec: now it comes under US law, criminal and civil, and Rupert is f-cked.
Can't think of a nicer guy for it to happen to after all these years of exploiting the hell out of the fear and dread of 9/11. May Murdoch break rocks and die a penniless beggar. Haul his ass before a Grand Jury. Now.

No wonder he fled to England. Fascist Monster.

7. When the Chairman and his son are indicted, it can not help FoxNews. Lost stock values will punish
Murdoch, Ailes and their minions, if nothing else does.

8. Oh, more lookin' backwards to the past
I'm sure one of Rupert's lawyers said it was okay, and the United States Department of Justice shows great deference for the legal opinions of the mouthpieces of people who might have committed felonies, crimes against humanity and the like. If your lawyer says it's okay (whatever "it" is), then go right ahead!

Murdoch will not pay any price in the United States. Fox News will come out stronger than ever.

13. Guess that is why Brooks told the NOTW workers
that the legal problems were going to get much worse. One of the workers had secretly recorded her during the meeting she had with them this past week and she said, paraphrasing, that more things would be coming out that were going to be alot worse then what has already come out.
9/11 victims...yeah, that is pretty much worse.

I have to admit, my first thought when I read her comment a few days ago was hacking of high level US politicians' phones.
