Good bye, Middle Class America. Welcome to the land of the Slaves.
Saw this article this mornng and it just made me nauseated to read. Our middle class has been destroyed, and who destroyed it? The same people who have been attacking the foundations of the middle class for 30 years. The wealthy. They won't be happy til our economy is in complete ruin, so long as they have ALL the wealth in America.

Welcome to the land of the chained, and the home of the slaves.

To be disposed of once we can no longer produce because at that point we are no longer an 'asset' but a 'liability'.

Cut SS, cut Medicare.

It's about not having to care for workers who are no longer 'productive' so the wealthy can have even more.

Proles, serfs, slaves.

Off to the glue factory . .

"Gosh, Poindexter, little Fluffy just loves that dog food you picked up from Tiffany's made from recycled midwestern proles."

6. Eventually the majority of the citizens will no longer give a damn about the US or
its future and that will produce a very dangerous situation as to the stability of this country, especially when other countries decide the US is a lost investment. Just like with failed corporations it will eventually happen, and those at the top will skim off the riches leaving the rest in shambles.

7. It's been really depressing watching this unfold - and nobody trying to stop it
not the repubs, not the Dems, nobody. Bernie Sanders and a handful of Dems like Sheldon Whitehouse, Kucinich, Sharod Brown, Anthony Wiener (gone), Alan Grayson (gone), Max Cleland (gone), Paul Wellstone (dead - murdered?) and a few others - not enough to matter.

Such is the fate of all empires i suppose - only revolution can save us now i'm afraid. K&R.

8. I've been telling people I know that a 2nd civil war is in the making,
and I think I'm right. In the next 10-15 years, civil unrest will continue to grow, once we have our first food riots, there will be some rich corporation or even the government (republican controlled by then) will crack down hard on the people, blood will flow, and people will see what happens when Republicans are given a free hand.

I personally look forward to this. Because once people see... the Republican party will be forever destroyed.

9. Your conclusion is wrong,
because Slaves have value, cost to maintain/support, and replace. One of the reasons that slaves were not used to fight as soldiers during the late Civil War. Cheaper to use low cost white free men, that would fight for the flag, state's rights, combined with the reality that these same free men couldn't afford to own slaves. And sadly, in some extreme situations were not far removed from an economic situation (economic only) that was as bad as slavery. Keep in mind, regardless of what Michelle Bachman says, their are few extremes as bad as slavery - unless we discuss the genocide policy directed at and to the native american population.

Working poor are on their own, cost nothing, are expendable, and easily replaceable.

They reproduce on their own and the corporate has the pick of the litter.

Working poor are low cost, are not assets, just in time employable, and easy to balance cost in their unit cost in a cost accounting model.

When they can no longer produce at optimal performance levels, in the right to work states - easily dismissed and replaced.

So, the slave would cost more and require more.

And, the idea of freedom - sad smile,....well, that's another story.
