Palin's camp dismissed charges that she was encouraging acts of violence, saying she had spoken out against violence. But Giffords herself was one of many who spoke out against the image, telling MSNBC: "When people do that, they've gotta realize there's consequences to that action."

Why doesn't Loughner simply issue a statement condemning acts of violence?

If it works for Palin, then it should work for Loughner.

They can dismiss the charges of inciting violence all they want, the fact is they put a very hi-profile target list up and when called on it, they didn't take it down. They can reap what they sowed.
