Tea parties fear backlash
http://www.congress.org/news/2011/01/08/tea_parties_fear_backlash

Tea party activists condemned today’s shooting and said they are concerned that the act will be blamed on their movement.

“A lot of people have bets on how long it will take before they blame this on the tea party and that’s absolutely ridiculous,” Debbie Dooley, a national coordinator for Tea Party Patriots, told Congress.org.

(snip)
Elsewhere on the social networking site, users blamed tea-party leader Sarah Palin for stoking anger against Giffords.

“This tragedy rests sorely (sic) on your doorstep Ms. Palin,” Bartholomew Hayes wrote in one post. “Your irresponsible rhetoric has brought senseless violence against the American people.”

31. Dick Armey should not be allowed off the hook for what he created.
He's a powder keg of hatred for the left. His Tea-partiers scared members of Congress, including Republicans from holding Town Hall Meetings anymore. Why do we put up with this?

Armey is a criminal and a coward and he is responsible for a lot of the hate-filled rhetoric also.

5. Of course they are
The teabaggers like to go around waving their guns, spouting off about taking back their country, talk about a revolution and try to act like they are to be reckoned with because they have the power and now that someone actually used their gun the big bad teabaggers are going to say "well, we don't really mean we will actually use force..." They are a bunch of hypocritical asshole pretenders.

To shut up this shooter guy, because once he starts talking, he'll be a huge downfall for the Tea Party. Not only the tea party, but as well to those who incited him.

10. What the fuck do you think a "2nd Amendment Solution" looks like you fucking assholes?
They are encouraging this behavior, but so long as it's only results in low level violence and petty vandalism against their political opponents they are fine with spouting their pro-violence bullshit.

11. It's time to cash that check you've been writing, TP.
You can't advocate guns and pretend no one is ever going to use one. You can't say "second ammendment solution" and then "never mind" when your words influence those who'll actually do it. You can't put targets on people and hold shooting fundraisers and think that it is all one big political joke.

I hope that tea is bitter and you all choke on it.

Aren't these the types who saw Soros or ACORN in every nook and cranny, even stretching the point so far that it made "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" look like a person had KB on speed dial?

27. Yup. They'd BETTER expect backlash
THEY were the ones injecting oh-so-subtle messages encouraging gun violence. "Second Amendment solutions" "Don't retreat, RELOAD"

Quasi-political "gun demonstrations" and "gun rallies", where people are ENCOURAGED to bring and proudly display their weapons.

We warned people about this. Now it's happened.

This was preventable.

33. Poor babies.. How awful that people might try to hold them RESPONSIBLE
for the dangerous stuff they say...stuff that comes right out of their own mouths & gets put down (poorly spelled) on paper with their own hands..

The parties of "personal responsibility" only want OTHER people to be personally responsible.. For themselves, they cling to martyrdom and self-pity, & ask for (and usually get) a "free pass" on all the nonsensical stuff they say, because it's "only" words said innocently (with a large dose of "wink-wink-nudge-nudge..know what I mean".. How on EARTH could anyone really think they wanted people receiving their coded, sly little "messages" to act on those messages..:eyes:...or at least to be TIED to them .. (like how could anyone imagine that people would fly planes into buildings, sayeth Condi Rice)

34. If Democratic or liberal politicians are afraid to meet with constituents, vote for certain
bills, support certain policies, or even hold office...then mission accomplished for the teabaggers. That's what it's all about. Get someone to go batshit listening to all their "crosshairs" and target shooting rhetoric, distance themselves, act like victims, and reap the rewards of a newly terrorized (and cowed) Democratic party.

38. Teabaggers are collectively responsible for

all of today's murders, assassinations and attempted assassinations.

They know they can't spin this.

They own this guilt.

Their rhetoric and imagery stoked the fires that killed a beautiful nine year old.

Their hands are as bloody as their mouths have been.

They have already gained the power they sought. Too little too late.

Now if the President can bring a Dem House with him in his re-election in 2012, this may be the first act in waking people up and helping that to happen.
