I thought he was. I could be wrong. Am I?

I'm sure this will garner a good deal of snark, but the question is serious.

1. from wikipedia...interpret as you will
"2004 electionsIn October 2004 the Drudge Report published a memo Halperin sent to ABC News staff about coverage of the U.S. presidential election directing them not to “reflexively and artificially hold both sides ‘equally’ accountable” and that both John Kerry and George W. Bush used “distortion” in their campaign, but that Kerry’s distortions were not “central to his efforts to win.”<3> Halperin was criticized by conservatives who used the memo to reinforce long-standing complaints of media bias.<4><5> ABC News spokesman Jeffrey Schneider confirmed the authenticity of the memo and said Halperin “takes his responsibility to be fair as seriously as a heart attack.”<6>"

4. He was Bob Dole's speechwriter.
Make of it what you will.

But I can't see any Democrat writing campaign speeches for Nixon's attack dog.

9. No, he was NOT Bob Dole's Speechwriter. Salon Corrected that. They confused
him with someone named HELPRIN.

Get your fact straight.

Halperin is a Democrat, who thinks Obama is a "DICK" (a perfectly logical thing, and actually a good sign, for Democrats).

5. well, he absolutely adores Drudge... takes every opportunity
to defend and promote Rethugs and never misses a chance to make a snarky comment about Dems... No, he doesn't seem a fan of Palin, but that surely doesn't make him a Democrat.

Frankly, I don't know how he'd classify himself.. But surely he suffers the interminable "inside the beltway" syndrome and at best, that makes him clueless.

7. His father, Morton, was a prominent Vietnam War Dove. Mark, the lesser. Like Dubya.

Mark is a neoconservative, fitting to his station and inherited privileges.

Nepotism is not a good model for success in any vocation, including journalism, policy and politics.
