The Economy is like a Motorcycle.

The economy is like a motorcycle.
You want it to go far and fast but you need fuel to make it go.

The fuel tanks should be filled to the brim for the motorcycle to perform it's best. This is what the Republicans keep telling us.
So our economy is geared to filling the tanks of business so they have ample fuel to go the distance.

What they have forgotten is that some of that fuel must be sprayed into the carburetor and you have to give it a few strong kick starts before the engine begins to run.

Our economy is geared to topping off the tank which works when the engine is running along at full speed, but now it has stopped.

So the tanks are filled and we sit up on the seat wondering why the engine doesn't start.

The Republicans say the answer is to pour in more fuel, never mind the fact that the tanks have already been topped off and the fuel is beginning to spill out onto the ground.

They disregard the concept that some of the fuel must be spritzed around the country and then given a big kick start to get things going again.

In the meantime the bike sits still and the stagnant fuel in the tanks begins to evaporate.

4. Oh yours did that too huh? I remember my 67 BSA and how tempermental the thing was
one day first kick would get it fired up the next day it took 2 hours and a few jammed knees before it decided to start. One thing nice about the BSA though, it taught me to carry tools and spare parts to make sure it got me home. BSA=Stock market.

5. It probably saved my life.
As a motorcyclist I was a complete idiot. I was also 20 and in the marines at the time and convinced that I was invulnerable. So, the more time I spent trying to get the bastard to start was less time I spent trying to kill myself.
