Obama today (6/29/11) "Right now, Congress can advance a set of trade agreements that would allow...
American businesses to sell more of their goods and services to countries in Asia and South America. Agreements that would support tens of thousands of American jobs while helping them adversely affected by trade. That's pending before Congress right now."

-------

Sorry, Mr. President, these trade agreements simply send more of our jobs overseas.

They have not, and will never, produce more, higher paying jobs in the US.

1. This does not pass the smell test. Please list the items that are
made in the US which middle class and poor people in these countries can actually afford to purchase. Maybe produce
from farms. Acual MfG goods or products?????

Yep the Governments might buy a few tractors. I know
I am being sarcastic but FREE TRADE has almost ruined
this countty. Do not call me an isolationist. I said
Free Trade. $0 Million dislocations are not enough.

3. A fucking shame.
"Agreements that would support tens of thousands of American jobs while helping them adversely affected by trade."

Them, as in jobs? Workers? What? This sentence makes no sense at all.

5. Fancy talk for -
the jobs retraining funds (for the additional thousands of American jobs lost to these new trade partners) in the agreement.

6. Good. The EU already has a similar agreement with South Korea.
If Germany, France and Sweden can compete there so can we. Of course, South Koreans and Europeans have similar per capita incomes and both have income distributions that are far superior to ours.

7. They could, but as they stand, they don't. Instead of having terms
that help raise up the working people of the world, it instead has weak labor support which forces our workers into ultimately accepting third world wages and benefits.
