Anyone in Kirkland, WA know what's going on with the power
outage and a SLEW of fire trucks/responders?

My sister in law works there, just came in and said that as she was driving home (because of power loss) she had to sit through a light for 4 cycles because the fire trucks kept on a comin'.

Thanks. NOW I'll check local news (you guys are always my first go-to source)!

1. I hope someone knows
You've piqued my curiosity. Let's hope it's nothing serious.

7. She just told me they're doing construction on a nearby
bridge and "somebody" said they heard a POP, so maybe they just blew a transformer and are taking precautionary measures. Nothing on the local sites. Times like this I wish I had a police radio (or whatever they're called).

I'm sure if it was a bomb or hostage situation or something like that, it'd be on the sites as 'breaking', so we can probably not worry too much. :7 :hi:

You can listen to police radio on either using apps.

And yes, you will need to learn the 10 code too. (Which is not that hard to do either)

Google up scanner apps, police scanner apps

4. Closest I found is this
http://www.king5.com/news/One-man-hurt-in-West-Seattle-house-fire-124659634.html

And does not strike me as more than a two alarm fire, best case.

14. Aren't you glad you don't live there now with the viaduct
"project" underway? A friend of mine was considering moving over there -- on the west side you feel like you're at the ocean, on the east side Seattle's jewel box lights up at night, but you know that -- but she decided she'd end up hating it after a few stuck-in-traffic aggravating commutes. Whenever I go to West Seattle (and Magnolia, for that matter) I feel so REMOVED from Seattle. :-) :hi:

18. Just clicked on your info -- CO is beautiful, too! But I know,
there's something special about Seattle even though I may be biased since it's my home town, and even though it's changed drastically since I was growing up.

I don't even want to tell you about Ballard now, but it's still beautiful and retains that Ballard "vibe" even though it's now one of the hot areas to live ($$$).

I don't want to hi jack this post, maybe you would be kind enough to pm me? I lived in Seattle for ages, before I moved South.

17. I swear, you guys should get jobs as researchers or providing
information to the newscasts or something - I NEVER find stuff like this!

I'm not familiar w/that office complex, but boy, 60 firefighters? 21 units? Gulp. I'm sure the people are safe but the damage will be severe. :(

I'm over in Seattle -- Lake Washington separates us. Thanks for the concern. :pals:
