We must make the MSM focus on Bachmann's voting record, not the crazy..
Edited on Tue Jun-28-11 03:57 PM by rainlillie
Bachmann has a very poor voting record when it comes to women's issues and issues that will benefit the poor and children:

* Bachmann voted against "The Fair Pay for Women Act"
* Voted against legislation to stop employment discrimination.
* Voted to stop funding of Planned Parenthood.
* Voted against the expansion of Children's health insurance.

She is anti-choice and has said that "wives must be submissive" to their husbands.”

It's odd to me that men, mainly Democrats have fought for and value the rights of women more so than the females within the republican party. President Obama has definitely done more to support causes that are beneficial to women than Bachmann has.

She has also voted against foreclosure relief legislation. Although her district had the highest number of foreclosures in Minnesota and the highest rate of foreclosures. We need to make the MSM focus on her record, not on the whacked out things she has said, although, that stuff is entertaining. We need to remember that those flubs just makes her more endearing to her base, and she can pull the old "liberal media card" when they call her out for silly statements.

4. You may be right, but my in-laws who are republicans..
had no idea that she voted against the Seniors Protection Act. I just think the crazy stuff is a distraction and that we need to keep the focus on the issues. She can walk back some of the nutty stuff she has said, but her record speaks for itself.

3. Interesting idea, making the MSM do something.
If I only could. If they want to focus on crazy, it's okay by me. I'll worry when they stop.

6. I can see why these things would mattter...
To a Democrat.

What you seem to be forgetting is she's a Teabagging - Republican. They not only won't object to those votes, they'll be energized by her choices. They are the ones she's appealing to, not the rest of America.

The folks on the local radio are using her gender to appeal to women. I hope women, the independent female voters will look at her record on women's issues.

8. They know all that
but she's their pet rock (since Huntsman has zero chance of breaking into double digits anywhere, even Utah) and they want to see her battle it out with Romney. If he spends the max needed to get the nomination, and the fundies do the same, then there's a lot of money headed for media outlets.

Why wouldn't you want the best card you can get, if you're getting a share of the purse?
