Tell me what is wrong with this picture (RE: Dodgers bankruptcy)
The Dodgers are in debt. What's the tally according to the local news here in LA?

Manny Ramirez: Owed $21 million.

Andruw Jones; Owed $11 million.

City Of Los Angeles: Owed $240,000.

So they can afford to pay these outrageous sums of money to the players, yet when it comes to actually paying property taxes or profit taxes, they pay next to nothing. And it's not just the Dodgers - there's businesses all over the country who aren't paying their fair share. Yeah, we're fucked.

stadiums in the case of sport franchises.

5. Well, to be fair, the Dodgers aren't in debt; the owner is
It's pretty much impossible to lose money with a baseball team in SoCal...But the owner had an ugly divorce, the wife (just as reptilian as her ex) owns part of the team and wants to cash in, and both of them had been diverting more and more team revenues to cover billions in shitty investments and wealth made from a house of cards...

7. exactly, what is wrong is the rich declare their business bankrupt
instead of personal bankruptcy. He has been using the team as his personal ATM driving it into debt. Then gets to declare the team bankrupt, when really he personally is bankrupt. The team was used as collateral for loans to buy the team, four super houses, for his divorce, for his and her elaborate spending etc...

the whole time they paid no taxes because they had so many write offs. It is BS the way the rich are protected. The worst part is players (his workers) could get screwed out of money he promised them, by this. I hope his fellow owners cut him off. No trades, no revenue sharing, no TV money. Starve him til the parasite leaves.
