it's official.....insanity prevails

UPDATED, 12:45 p.m.: WATERLOO, Iowa – Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota formally opened her candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination on Monday, presenting herself as a forceful conservative who will confront the party’s establishment and not compromise on principles to capture grass-roots enthusiasm that has risen up in opposition to President Obama.

“I seek the presidency not for vanity, but because America is at a crucial moment,” Ms. Bachmann said. “I believe that we must make a bold choice if we are to secure the promise of our future.”

Ms. Bachmann made the announcement in her childhood home of Waterloo, where she hopes that her Iowa roots will provide an advantage over her rivals in the state that opens the Republican nominating contest early next year. She introduced herself as a candidate with broad appeal, acknowledging the spirit of Tea Party activists, but pointing out that she hails from a long line of Democrats. (Yes, she conceded, she once volunteered for Jimmy Carter.)

“Our problems don’t have an identity of party, they are problems created by both parties,” Ms. Bachmann said. “Americans agree that our country is in peril today and we must act with urgency to save it. Americans aren’t interested in affiliation. They are interested in solutions and leadership that will tell the truth.”

5. I am sensing they are going to kill each other with kindness
Concentrate all their hate for Obama through the entire process.

Its going to be a contest to see who hates Obama more without crossing that racial line.

13. You have to wonder who advised her that Waterloo would be a choice venue
even if she was born there. I mean, really--surely there's got to be a better venue in the COUNTY where that unfortunately-named town is sited. She wasn't raised there, was she?

I had the impression that she was inflicted upon Minnesota at a fairly early age....

17. Even sadder
it is the town where John Wayne Gayce started his spree, serving 18 months. Which She also later mistakenly cited as John Wayne (the Duke) hometown (actually 3 hours away).

Too bad this is the plain truth.....Some Democrats voted side by side with republicans over the last decade to put us in a war posture and also huge deficit spending...record deficit spending until Obama's deficit spending that is..
