Oh Bobby, I'm sorry you got a head like a potato...I really am (Wallace apologizes to Bachmann)
Update: Wallace has caved under the pressure of letters from angry viewers and apologized for suggesting Bachmann was a “flake.”

“I messed up. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean any disrespect,” he said.

BONUS POINTS to anyone who caught the Frank Zappa reference in my subject line.

2. Frankly, he should apologize
Journalists can be hard-hitting but do it with facts, not labels or name calling.

4. I think his question was a valid one...
...and maybe he asked it in an awkward, clumsy manner, but I don't think he labeled her or called her names. I think his intention was probably to give her a chance to defend herself against her critics, and because of the way he screwed that up, he ended up being the bad guy.

No matter how politely or impolitely that question is asked, she's going to have to answer it if she wants to go the distance on the Republican ticket. She has made many misinformed statements, there are people who do think she is crazy, and that's a shame, but no one did these things to her...this is how she's conducted herself in the public eye.

8. But that's exactly what I just said
Maybe it didn't come across that way, but that is exactly what I just said. He asked a valid question. He used the wrong words. Whether she's a flake or misinformed, the root cause of his asking the question is the same.

3. Wallace gives her the perfect "out" and then apologizes
Looks like old Crazy Eyes is the official flavor of the month. Following in the footsteps of T Rump and Newtie Toot Toot.

And what I mean by giving Bachmann an out, is that by asking her point-blank if she's a flake, it defuses any of those inconvenient questions from Bachmann's past about her loony pronouncements or policy positions. Not that there was much danger of that from the somnambulent bulldogs of the Fourth Estate, but now anyone who asks Bachmann a question about her loopiness will be accused of calling her a flake.

"She lives in mojave in a winnebago

9. Yes, that's why I made the comment at the end
The closing moments of the song have Johnny "Guitar" Watson saying "Oh, Bobby, I'm sorry you got a head like a potato...I really am."

10. Good for you.
Rare to find someone so deeply versed in the Zappa-filia, so I had to be sure.

Letterman's Top Ten about her was worse.

And it was funny, too.
