Urgent: I need sign ideas for a Koch Brothers / Free State Project protest
Edited on Sun Jun-26-11 04:26 PM by Tesha
Tomorrow, I'll be going to protest an event where the
Free State Project (the Libertarian masturbatory fantasy
of "freeing" all of us here in New Hampshire from all of
the evils of government) is meeting with representatives
of the Koch Brothers (who provide significant funding for
the Project).

I need sign ideas.

Remember the usual sign rules: Short, Pithy, and to the
point and hopefully the signs should be understandable
by a wide range of readers, not just the partisans
involved on both sides. Extra credit if it's a sign
sure to get TV or press coverage.

I've already got some ideas, bit I won't bias the jury
by suggesting them. ;)

DU, let 'er rip!

Tesha

2. Here you go. Make a sign with the face of the Libertarians' goddess, whacko & adulterer Ayn Rand
Edited on Sun Jun-26-11 04:49 PM by Sarah Ibarruri

She looks like a clown. All she needs is the rubber nose.

And these are some of her ideas that were the foundation of the Libertarian movement:

- Believed self-interest to be all good -- and altruism to be evil!

- Found the idea of volunteering to help the less fortunate to be offensive!

- Elevated a rapist to hero status in her novel The Fountainhead!

(It's from the website, The Hall of Idiots: http://hallofidiots.blogspot.com/2009/02/ayn-rand.html)

13. Ok well... that was interesting.

About 15 of us stood out in front of the building.. the police were welcoming at least.

One libertarian who likes to hear himself talk and likes the challenge of one-on-ones
stood there and tried to debate - and the head a$$hole of the House hurried by to the
shouts of "Shame". The other 30 must have snuck in using the back door.

Our signs caused Jason Sorens to refuse to even look at us - even after we'd taken seats
inside for the presentation without them per the request of the sargent at arms. The author
and his fellow writer amazingly tried to tell us that NH is free and getting free-er even while
fending off questions like... what about "quality of life and safety nets"? and "whose definition
of free are you using" and "who paid for this study".

The whole point seems to have been to have prepare a document that agrees with the
philosophy that less government is better - which is fine for them... rich, young, healthy,
white males.

oh - and arrogant... boy were they arrogant.

I always ask myself, "Did you make a difference?" and I have to say yes this time, because
they know we won't be silent in NH anymore.

10. ahh...
very, very appropriate!

I wish the people who need to understand this actually ~could~ understand it.. they really believe that they are immune to the hell NH's headed for.

Now, I can see your sig line as a great bumper sticker - thanks!

12. But they can still work for better ideas, even with flaws.

And I am due beer and travel money.

I don't judge them, why would I?

However the representation of what they do, as said in the media, is not what I would choose to do. Hard to defend obscene wealth.
