WTF!!!!! US wants Twitter details of Wikileaks activists
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-12141530
<snip>
The US government has subpoenaed the social networking site Twitter for personal details of people connected to Wikileaks, court documents show.

The US District Court in Virginia said it wanted information including user names, addresses, connection records, telephone numbers and payment details.

Those named include Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and an Icelandic MP.

The US is examining possible charges against Mr Assange over the leaking of 250,000 classified diplomatic cables.

1. And lower on these pages the Fed gov't wants everyone online ID'd
Hmmm. Just trying to make digital economics secure...right. As I remember a SS was not supposed to be anything more than an account number. That really held up to the test of time.

What's next? Digitally taken attendance at religious gatherings so that the gov't can decide your spirituality index? Oh, no, that's just a thing for the military...

6. So, Wikileaks turned around and demanded that Google and Facebook unseal
their subpoenas, too, betting that Twitter wasn't the only one the government served.
