Well, we have good news -- it's actually worse than that! Wait, did we say "good" news? Sorry.

:snip:

#5. "4G" is a Bullshit Marketing Term

It was just a few years ago that everyone started getting 3G phones that could actually surf the Internet at speeds faster than '90s-era dial-up. But even 3G is going out of style. 2. Me, too.
Seeing cell phone stores on every block was a big clue that there is way too much profit in that industry.

9. there was just a notice that Verizon is getting rid of their unlimited minute plans
So they've effectively raised rates on their customers - AGAIN. My dumbass relatives signed on with them and got rid of their land lines. WRONG thing to do when these companies are so out of control.

11. Paying for texting plans always angers me
Because text messages are infinitesimally small and represent something like 0.0001% of total data traffic.

I liked that factoid that text messages cost FOUR TIMES MORE than if it were sent from the Space Shuttle.

In other words, text messaging charges are PURE PROFIT with virtually ZERO costs for the Telecom.
