On June 16th, 2011, Mr. McDonald New York Senate Republican was speaking to the press on his intended support for New York State's upcoming vote on Gay Marriage. He was responding to the pressure he was receiving from other Republicans to vote against the measure.

He was then quoted as saying

"You get to the point where you evolve in your life where everything isn't black and white, good and bad, and you try to do the right thing. You might not like that. You might be very cynical about that.

"Well, fuck it, I don't care what you think. I'm trying to do the right thing. I'm tired of Republican-Democrat politics. They can take the job and shove it. I come from a blue-collar background. I'm trying to do the right thing, and that's where I'm going with this."

1. Refreshing. Hope it's catching.
Doing what's right far more often favors Dem. positions.

2. Is the GOP being Revived?
I agree with him and Good for him!
This guy sounds like a "good ol' fashioned" Republican and one I can respect, tho--rarely agree with.

Now, Where the Hell is the Democratic Wing of the Dem party?

3. Nah, doubt it, but there are a few politicians who, after time, realize that it eats your soul.
They tend to not last very long, though.

5. Maggie Gallagher, paid to shill for NOM, an arm of the Catholic hierarchy.
That's the voice of the Catholic Church corporation warning politicians that they will withhold campaign monies.

7. Interesting to see the number of righties not opposed
Two types of Republicans - the bible-thumpers, and the greedheads, and gay marriage isn't a threat to the greedheads.
