Andrew Cuomo will (probably) be the only candidate 4 president in 2016 that has lead on gay marriage

Andrew Cuomo is very ambitious and is very likely to run for president in 2016. He will most likely be the only candidate to have successfully lead the way on marriage equality. That should earn him a well deserved loyal following on its own. As we have seen from Obama, leading the way on gay marriage is not very common.

I think in 2016 we'll need someone radically progressive to try to swing the country back toward the center. What's going on these days is just pathetic.

20. A SERIOUS liberal candidate

When was the last time any Congressman was a Presidential nominee? Beyond just statistics, and practical matters of networking and finances, Kucinich- despite being right a lot of the time- is about as uncharismatic as they come. And you might be tempted to say that charisma shouldn't count for as much as it does, but it's directly related to the powers a candidate has to inspire people.

Not to mention that Kucinich ran in the last two Presidential elections, and didn't move the debate to the left as far as I remember.

This doesn't unscrew the pooch for me at all. I'd never trust the man with the broad prosperity of the nation or to reverse the corporate capture of our government.

The power brokers don't give a shit about marriage equity, it has been used to flog along regressive voters and now the wind is leaving their sails so the issue won't drive the politics they care about which are all money funnels.

14. Watch for Maryland Gov Martin O'Malley too

He pledged to sign MD's gay marriage bill before it died in the House. You can be sure he'll bring it back in 2012. I would bet that Maryland is one of the next states to legalize it. We already came very close to getting it in April.

Thats why you can do it there and not have to worry about it hurting your reelection chances.

Obama has to worry abotu being reelected though by winning states like Pennsylvania and Ohio, etc... Thats why he cant be for gay marriage. It woudl probably kill his chances of being reelected. I think he's specifically worried abotu enthusiasm in the black community.

22. Andrew Cuomo has a race problem

And so did his father. Not sure what it is, but apparently, black people and Cuomo's don't get along very well. I'm not in NY, so I don't know the back story, but it's not a love story. I do remember Andrew saying Obama can't "shuck and jive" around an issue during his primary contest against Hillary. I was offended and I know black people were pretty angry.

I'm sure he got the lion's share of the black vote in the governor's race in NY, but running for president is a whole other beast and all that stuff will come to light.
