New York will either have equality in marriage tonight or a huge riot at the place of the birth of
the modern gay rights movement. According to many accounts there are thousands of people at Stonewall right now and the crowd is getting larger. I'm hoping for a celebration.

2. Celebration
We will do this!

Saw a tweet earlier that if we win tonight, the number of Americans living in states with marriage equality will double.

NOM fuckers are switching to "let the people vote" memes, they know this thing is lost for them. History is against the bigots.

They actually sent out a tweet about letting the people vote not celeberties...

Edit to add their tweet...

@nomtweets: Should Hollywood be defining #marriage? Celebrities push for #NY #SSM bill without a vote from the people. @NO4M #TCOT http://4rd.ca/aaaiRP

7. The hilarious part
Our state constitution doesn't even allow for that. Only the legislature has the power to create ballot referendums, and only in the case of constitutional amendments.

They KNOW their goose is cooked on this. This passes, that's it. No Prop 8s are possible in NY.

5. By all means! Go ahead and let New Yorkers vote!
It wouldn't even be close. Equality would pass with at least 55%.

Lots of people have. It's true: number of people and number of same-sex couples.
Most of the states that have legalized it so far are pretty small.

17. LOL. No, you misunderstand.
When you add New York's population to the population of the other states with marriage equality, the total number doubles.
