Staten Island's state Sen. Andrew Lanza to vote against gay marriage
Lanza (R-Staten Island) released the following statement this evening:

After exhaustive consideration of the issue of same-sex marriage during which I have listened to thousands of good and decent people on both sides of the issue, consulted numerous writings, done considerable soul searching and perhaps, most importantly, listened to the people I represent on Staten Island, I have decided to vote no.

Are the votes there for this to pass?

5. No idea who that means specifically, but some people are saying that they have 34-35.

4. Rumors have been flying fast and furious
Some said the final tally will be as high as 34 in favor. Lanza's not needed, many more who are on the fence have not tipped their hands yet. The buzz in the capital is positive for equality.

6. I'm reading the same
All the tweets from people who I would think know, indicate that it's going to pass.

8. Staten Island is very conservative
and Republican. Direct of opposite of the rest of the City. Not surprising.
