Rx for depression in old people
Old age should rave and burn at close of day.
Do not go gentle into that good night
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

1. Thank you...
...from someone who is getting closer to being an "old people".

Funny how a few simple words can give you a new outlook on the day. :-)

in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

5. My GG parents, especially my mother have had their "golden years" courtesy of my generation having
paid into SS/FICA for decades, however, me and mine are likely going to go reluctantly into the "elderness" kicking and screaming in disbelief, regret, emotional/physical pain, fear, poverty, hunger, likely far underinsured, (if insured at all) with a only a handful of medical vouchers for healthcare "coverage" and treatment, accompanied with angst.

And if the sociopathic Rethugs and their global corporate capitalist handlers ever have their way, they will make old age for many if not most during the coming last half of this decade and beyond, a poverty-stricken and dreaded "work till you drop dead or else die sooner" curse, and surely not any mythical "On Golden Pond" comfy rocking chair.

But hey, like Rand Paul said, rich families, well-to do friends, perhaps church-members and my wealthy rightwinger relatives will all be contributing VAST sums of (tax-deductible) money to charitable causes, which along with prayer will be MORE than sufficient to support our elderly population, whether unhealthy, frail, mentally/physically disabled, hungry, poor, or sick, once they are fully relieved of the burdensome taxation that is caused by evil librul socialism and its tax-sucking entitlements.

:sarcasm:

6. I quote this all the time
for the past 30 years. For those who have never heard Dylan Thomas read his poetry -- DO IT NOW! He makes Richard Burton sound like Mortimer Snerd. (Well, not REALLY...)
