A more progressive tax code:

Everyone gets to pay their fair share, the deficit shrinks, more people have more money to spend, the money that everyone spends boosts the economy, a healthier economy spurs more employment, more employed people become happier because they can take care of themselves instead of being desperate, less desperation means less fear, less fear allows us to focus on rebuilding at home instead of nation building abroad, less nation building and less fear encourages less spending on the military/industrial/prison complex, less spending on the military/industrial/prison complex reduces the propensity for war-making and a ballooning prison population, fewer people in prison makes private prisons less profitable, less private prison profitability and less military contractor profitability reduces the money and influence that their lobbyists have on lawmakers, lawmakers can fund more education with the money that isn't spent on war-making and prison building, more education spending results in better educated people, better educated people result in better educated news consumers. better educated news consumers gravitate to better sources of news instead of propaganda and sensationalistic tripe, better educated people who are better informed make better decisions at the ballot boxes, better election results result in better laws and more responsible lawmakers, better laws and lawmakers results in more democracy and the equalization of civil rights and more dedication to establishing a social contract and all the above results in a healthier, happier, freer and more peaceful nation.

How about you?
