62% favor Obama health care law with some modifications. 35% want law overturned.
President Barack Obama’s new health-care law gets a more favorable reaction. The poll of 1,000 adults found that 51 percent of all Americans say that while the law may need modification, it shouldn’t be repealed, and another 11 percent say it should be left alone. That compares with 35 percent who want the new law overturned.

2. I notice they don't mention what that 62% want to see changed.
I expect it has something to do with those mandated fat paychecks for the insurance industry, which is non-negotiable, since it's really the whole point of the bill.

4. Actually it's 51% that want to keep the law but want some changes. 11% like it as is.
Still, the GOP keep claiming that the "vast majority" of Americans want the law overturned.

You notice that no "news" organization is pointing out these results from the survey. Those that are reporting on the poll at all are only talking about the 57% who oppose the Ryan plan.

5. Don't forget
that some of the people in the 35% for repeal are like me that think it should have been 'universal health coverage'. Also there is a strong 20% at least that are hardline conservatives that want it repealed for no other reason that it was Obama that supported it to begin with.

6. I agree. I also want universal coverage. So the number is probably skewed. The GOP is
lying about what the American people want. But then again, their lips are moving....

7. I appreciate somebody doing a nuanced, detailed and thoughtful poll
Amazing what you can find when you start looking at these things like an adult. None of this automated bullshit with two options: repeal or keep.

8. "some modifications" = repeal the individual mandate.
Virtually everyone I know who opposes the law, including myself, opposes it on those grounds. Make that one "modification", and the opposition largely evaporates.

10. conservaspin: more than 3X as many want to overturn it vs. keep it as-is!
So predictable. So inevitable.
