Crazy Vermont cop strip searches woman, x-rays her vagina, looking for pot, finds nothing.
Edited on Wed Jun-22-11 10:25 PM by garybeck
I can't believe this happened in good old Burlington.

---------

VIDEO OF TRAFFIC STOP at link...

..snip...The traffic stop led to Ivy’s being strip-searched in a gas-station restroom by a female police officer. The court papers allege that, during the traffic stop, O’Connor at one point began screaming at Ivy and later made her undergo a second X-ray search for drugs in her vaginal area at Fletcher Allen Health Care after telling a hospital doctor he had the authority to order such a search.

No drugs were found following the hospital search, and Ivy was not charged criminally in connection with the traffic stop.

...snip...
Brooks McArthur, Ivy’s attorney and a former deputy Chittenden County state’s attorney, said police department and the city were sued in part because of past incidents in which O’Connor engaged in questionable conduct involving black suspects in criminal cases:

• In April, federal Judge William Sessions III ordered O’Connor to pay $100,000 in legal fees to the attorney for the Rev. Rico Diamond, a black pastor targeted in a 2005 drug investigation that turned up no evidence of wrongdoing.

.......snip......

In the video, O’Connor radios the dispatcher at police headquarters, saying he recalls a drug case involving Stalling. The dispatcher then asks O’Connor if he planned to “pull him over.”

O’Connor responds that he is about to do that because Stalling is “running a red light right in front of me as we speak.” The video shows, however, that the car in question is at a complete stop waiting for a stoplight to turn green.

29. Have you read about those X-Ray vans that look into peoples houses? Fascism is here already.
Edited on Fri Jun-24-11 04:41 AM by peopleb4money
Do a google on it. They actually have vans that drive around and irradiate people in their homes with the intent or excuse to find drugs. More and more, America is turning into a police state.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5852742/where_should_xray_vans_be_used.html

This isn't just an isolated incident. America really is becoming more and more Orwellian every day.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/tucson-swat-team-defends-shooting-iraq-marine-veteran/story?id=13640112

Check this article out on a Marine who was shot multiple times by a SWAT team during a drug raid. He had absolutely nothing on him, and his widow is left to raise his family without him.

Those body scanners at the air port irradiate you with 50 times the radiation levels of a medical X-Ray. This should make it clear and obvious that they don't give a fuck about public safety. Its all about hyping up terrorism as an excuse to transfer public money to security contractors.

This is why I'm not voting for Obama or whoever the Republican is, because they're all the same. They're all puppets for the corporate interests that are running this country into the ground.

http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Justice/2011/0516/Supreme-Court-No-warrant-needed-if-police-discern-destruction-of-evidence

Look at this. The Supreme Court enable asshole cops like this. Some pigs busted someone's door down without a warrant, and the Supreme court ruled it wasn't a violation of the fourth amendment, which i think it was. They say they heard them destroying evidence. Well anybody can claim they heard something. That's a pretty flimsy rule.

16. Nah, I was told in the TSA threads that
it isn't groping or molestation unless you can prove the agent was sexually gratified by it.

I am sure this works the same way.

I still can't believe this. WTF. This is Vermont. Possession of marijuana is not really that big of a deal here. This guy is just nuts, and it appears he's a bigot.

10. State's Attorney no longer prosecuting Officer O'Connor's cases (Burlington, VT)
http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/article/20110622/NEWS02/110622026/State-s-Attorney-no-longer-prosecuting-Officer-O-Connor-s-cases

I posted this a few minutes ago.

This action makes O'Connor worthless as the state as eliminated his authority (defacto).

Make the cops personally liable for their actions, not the taxpayer.

13. Jesus Christ, how much pot will fit in a vagina anyway?
I could KINDA see spending all that time and effort if we were talking a meth or coke stop because both drugs are expensive and a vagina full of either one will net someone serious hard time, but pot? The amount you could get up there wouldn't be much more than "personal use" quantity.

17. Cops are given a demonstration to familiarize them with the smell of pot
if he smelled "something" he should have been able to at least say what that "something" was.

Dude's a freak.

21. Unless it was some other plant substance...
Some years ago Mr P was wearing a Patchouli essential oil. He was at a gas station and when he opened the car door to get out, a cop nearby sniffed the air and declared that he smelled pot.

I have to say that some blends do smell somewhat like pot...

That cop belongs in jail where he can be equally humiliated a thousand times. Do they x-ray men's rectums too for traffic stops? Just asking!

27. Sickening and frightening. How did this country get to such
a point that horror stories like this do not cause the streets to be filled with angry protestors demanding an end to the phony rights-destroying Drug Wars?

I feel ill reading these stories and the TSA abuses.

Outrage is the only acceptable reaction to this.

There really should not even be any need to talk about it, just fire the creep and then prosecute him and whoever aided and abetted him.

This is one sick country that will accept these abuses as if they were in any way normal or excusable.
